Prices & planning

What you get and how long it takes — with the price agreed before you fly.

For dental work: ask us and a partner dentist builds your plan, then you get a firm price in writing — free, and settled before you travel rather than negotiated in the chair. For health checkups: four tiers at a fixed price, with every test listed.

An English-language medical record and written treatment plan from a clinic in China

Dental work

Free · no obligation

Just ask us. We will come back with a plan and a price for your case.

You do not need to send us anything to start — a sentence on what is bothering you and roughly when you might travel is enough. We will come back with a treatment plan and a firm written price, so the number is agreed before you fly instead of being negotiated in a chair in a language you do not speak.

1

Ask us

What is bothering you, and roughly when you might come. That is all we need to begin.

2

We build the plan with a dentist

What is needed, what is optional, how many visits and how many days it takes — so you can judge it against your trip before committing to anything.

3

You get a firm price in writing

Within 48 hours. Then you decide — plenty of people take the plan away and choose not to come, which is a perfectly good outcome.

Ask us about my case

Optional, and only if you already have them: an X-ray or a photo makes the plan more precise and can save a step later. Nothing is required to get a plan, and we never need your records to answer a question. An in-clinic examination and X-ray on arrival confirm the plan — if it shows something we could not see from a distance, we re-issue the plan and the price before any treatment starts.

What every quote is all-in. Materials, laboratory fees, the implant fixture, the crown itself, anaesthetic and imaging are inside the price we quote — there is no separate materials bill at the end, which is the usual way a cheap-looking dental quote stops being cheap. Below is the scope and the timing for each treatment, so you can plan a trip around it. Where a case can genuinely need more than the stated scope, the table says exactly what would do it — on the page, rather than discovered at the chair.

Treatment scope and timings verified 2026-08. Prices are set in US dollars and settled in Chinese yuan at the prevailing rate. Nothing here is a quote for your case or medical advice — a dentist has to review it. What treatments cost in China generally, with sourcing: China Dental Price Index.

If your trip is short, read the time column first. A CAD/CAM crown is milled in the clinic and fitted the same day; a laboratory crown needs two visits about a week apart. Whitening, cleaning, fillings and most extractions are single visits. Implants are two trips months apart, and braces are not a visitor treatment at all.

Health checkup tiers

Four tiers, every test listed, so you can see exactly what each one adds. Arranged in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Chengdu, with your results translated into English. Rows shaded green are the ones that actually decide which tier you want; a dash means that tier genuinely does not include it.

What these prices are. Each figure is the full price of that tier — not a deposit or a starting estimate — and it covers every test listed, the phlebotomy fee, and your report translated into English. A tier costs the same in all five cities we arrange. Not included: gastroscopy and colonoscopy, which no tier contains and which we quote separately, and anything a doctor recommends after seeing your results. Prices are set in US dollars and settled in yuan.

50 and over, or a family history of stroke, brain tumour or cervical cancer.

Tier contents verified 2026-08 at the centres we book. Branch contents can differ slightly for the same tier, so we confirm the exact list for your city before you pay. Prices are set in US dollars and settled in Chinese yuan at the prevailing rate.

Complete and Advanced screen for cancer identically. Both carry the same eleven tumour markers — Advanced adds nothing to the cancer panel. What the extra $220 buys is the head CT, the brain blood-flow study, a stool test, and deeper cardiac and kidney bloodwork. If cancer screening is your reason for coming, Complete is the one to book. If stroke risk or a family history of brain disease is, Advanced earns its money.
On Baseline and Standard, the chest CT comes without film. Those two tiers state the scan is issued as a report only. Complete and Advanced do not carry that restriction. If you want the images themselves — and you should, if you are taking results back to your own doctor — tell us and we will arrange for the scan to be released to you whichever tier you book.
Cervical screening: every tier has some, only Advanced has HPV. Baseline and Standard use a conventional Pap smear. Complete upgrades to liquid-based cytology, which is more sensitive. Advanced adds HPV genotyping across 23 or more types — the only tier that tests for the virus itself rather than just the cells. If HPV testing matters to you, that is the reason to choose Advanced over Complete.
No tier includes gastroscopy or colonoscopy. H. pylori antibody testing — and the stool test on Advanced — are not substitutes for endoscopy. If you are over 40 or have a family history of stomach or bowel cancer, book gastroscopy or colonoscopy separately. Tell us and we will arrange it alongside.
What is the same across all four. Every tier includes a chest CT, abdominal ultrasound, prostate ultrasound for men, breast and pelvic ultrasound for women, full blood count, urinalysis, fasting glucose, H. pylori testing, an ECG, and the ENT, surgical, internal-medicine and general examinations. You are never buying the basics twice — the money buys depth, not coverage.

Before you book a checkup

Pregnant or trying to conceive? Tell us before you book

Every package includes X-ray imaging and two include CT. Booking systems here do not ask about pregnancy — you have to raise it. Tell us and we will have those items removed or the appointment deferred.

You must fast, and the timing is tight

Nothing to eat after 20:00 the night before; bloods and abdominal ultrasound need an empty stomach. Checkup centres run mornings only, roughly 07:30–10:00, and each closes one weekday. That makes the calendar, not the lead time, the binding constraint — so tell us your dates early.

Checkup logistics

WhereArranged in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. We confirm the specific centre — and the exact package contents for that city — when we book, since branches differ.
Booking aheadA few working days. Tell us your dates as early as you can — morning-only opening hours are the real constraint.
FastingNo food after 20:00 the night before. Bloods and abdominal ultrasound require an empty stomach.
On the dayRoughly half a morning for Essential, longer for the larger packages.
BladderPelvic and bladder ultrasound need a full bladder; a gynaecological examination needs an empty one. The order matters — we will tell you the sequence for your appointment.
MenstruationAvoid gynaecological examination, urine tests and cervical screening during menstruation and for about three days either side. Tell us and we will schedule around it.
BringYour passport. Remove jewellery before imaging.
Your reportTypically 7–10 working days. We confirm the timeline for your centre when we book, and send you the report translated into English.

Common questions

How far ahead do I need to arrange this?

For a health checkup, a few working days is usually enough — but centres run mornings only, roughly 07:30 to 10:00, and each closes one weekday, so the calendar is the real constraint. For dental work, allow a couple of weeks between first contact and travelling: enough for an X-ray to be reviewed, a written quote to come back and appointments to be held.

How many trips will I need for dental work?

It depends on the treatment. Whitening, cleaning and extractions are a single visit. Veneers and crowns take two visits a few days apart, so one stay of about a week. Implants need the placement and then the crown months later, which realistically means two trips. Orthodontics runs for months of reviews and is not a visitor treatment.

Why are there no dental prices on this page?

Because a dental price that means anything has to be for your teeth, not for an average one. Two people needing "a crown" can need very different work, and a published number would either be too high to be useful or too low to be honest. So we quote per case, free and in writing, off the photos and X-ray you send — and that written price is what you pay for the scope it states. If you want to know what dental work costs in China generally, the China Dental Price Index has the market ranges with sourcing.

What do I have to send you to get a price?

Nothing. Tell us what is bothering you and roughly when you might travel, and that is enough for us to come back with a treatment plan and a firm written price — within 48 hours, free, with no obligation. If you happen to already have an X-ray or a photo, sharing it makes the plan more precise and can save a step later, but it is entirely optional and we never need your medical records to answer a question. An in-clinic examination and X-ray on arrival confirm the plan; if it shows something we could not see from a distance, we re-issue the plan and the price before any treatment begins.

How long will it actually take?

Every treatment on this page carries its chair time, its number of visits and — the one that decides a trip — the elapsed time from start to finish. Whitening, cleaning, fillings and most extractions are a single visit. A CAD/CAM crown is milled in the clinic and fitted the same day, while a laboratory crown needs two visits about a week apart. Implants are two trips three to six months apart, because the implant has to integrate with bone before the crown goes on.

Is the checkup price all-in?

The package price covers every test listed for that package, arranged and booked for you, with your report translated into English. Gastroscopy, colonoscopy and anything added after your consultation are quoted separately.

Do you provide the treatment?

No. China Medical Journey arranges and coordinates. Diagnosis, testing and treatment come from the licensed clinics and clinicians treating you, and nothing on this site is medical advice.

Ready, or still deciding?

Tell us the package or treatment and roughly when. We come back within 48 hours — free, no obligation.
