What you get and how long it takes — with the price agreed before you fly.
For dental work: ask us and a partner dentist builds your plan, then you get a firm price in writing — free, and settled before you travel rather than negotiated in the chair. For health checkups: four tiers at a fixed price, with every test listed.

Dental work
Just ask us. We will come back with a plan and a price for your case.
You do not need to send us anything to start — a sentence on what is bothering you and roughly when you might travel is enough. We will come back with a treatment plan and a firm written price, so the number is agreed before you fly instead of being negotiated in a chair in a language you do not speak.
Ask us
What is bothering you, and roughly when you might come. That is all we need to begin.
We build the plan with a dentist
What is needed, what is optional, how many visits and how many days it takes — so you can judge it against your trip before committing to anything.
You get a firm price in writing
Within 48 hours. Then you decide — plenty of people take the plan away and choose not to come, which is a perfectly good outcome.
Optional, and only if you already have them: an X-ray or a photo makes the plan more precise and can save a step later. Nothing is required to get a plan, and we never need your records to answer a question. An in-clinic examination and X-ray on arrival confirm the plan — if it shows something we could not see from a distance, we re-issue the plan and the price before any treatment starts.
What every quote is all-in. Materials, laboratory fees, the implant fixture, the crown itself, anaesthetic and imaging are inside the price we quote — there is no separate materials bill at the end, which is the usual way a cheap-looking dental quote stops being cheap. Below is the scope and the timing for each treatment, so you can plan a trip around it. Where a case can genuinely need more than the stated scope, the table says exactly what would do it — on the page, rather than discovered at the chair.

Before you book a checkup
Pregnant or trying to conceive? Tell us before you book
Every package includes X-ray imaging and two include CT. Booking systems here do not ask about pregnancy — you have to raise it. Tell us and we will have those items removed or the appointment deferred.
You must fast, and the timing is tight
Nothing to eat after 20:00 the night before; bloods and abdominal ultrasound need an empty stomach. Checkup centres run mornings only, roughly 07:30–10:00, and each closes one weekday. That makes the calendar, not the lead time, the binding constraint — so tell us your dates early.
Checkup logistics
| Where | Arranged in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. We confirm the specific centre — and the exact package contents for that city — when we book, since branches differ. |
| Booking ahead | A few working days. Tell us your dates as early as you can — morning-only opening hours are the real constraint. |
| Fasting | No food after 20:00 the night before. Bloods and abdominal ultrasound require an empty stomach. |
| On the day | Roughly half a morning for Essential, longer for the larger packages. |
| Bladder | Pelvic and bladder ultrasound need a full bladder; a gynaecological examination needs an empty one. The order matters — we will tell you the sequence for your appointment. |
| Menstruation | Avoid gynaecological examination, urine tests and cervical screening during menstruation and for about three days either side. Tell us and we will schedule around it. |
| Bring | Your passport. Remove jewellery before imaging. |
| Your report | Typically 7–10 working days. We confirm the timeline for your centre when we book, and send you the report translated into English. |
Common questions
How far ahead do I need to arrange this?
For a health checkup, a few working days is usually enough — but centres run mornings only, roughly 07:30 to 10:00, and each closes one weekday, so the calendar is the real constraint. For dental work, allow a couple of weeks between first contact and travelling: enough for an X-ray to be reviewed, a written quote to come back and appointments to be held.
How many trips will I need for dental work?
It depends on the treatment. Whitening, cleaning and extractions are a single visit. Veneers and crowns take two visits a few days apart, so one stay of about a week. Implants need the placement and then the crown months later, which realistically means two trips. Orthodontics runs for months of reviews and is not a visitor treatment.
Why are there no dental prices on this page?
Because a dental price that means anything has to be for your teeth, not for an average one. Two people needing "a crown" can need very different work, and a published number would either be too high to be useful or too low to be honest. So we quote per case, free and in writing, off the photos and X-ray you send — and that written price is what you pay for the scope it states. If you want to know what dental work costs in China generally, the China Dental Price Index has the market ranges with sourcing.
What do I have to send you to get a price?
Nothing. Tell us what is bothering you and roughly when you might travel, and that is enough for us to come back with a treatment plan and a firm written price — within 48 hours, free, with no obligation. If you happen to already have an X-ray or a photo, sharing it makes the plan more precise and can save a step later, but it is entirely optional and we never need your medical records to answer a question. An in-clinic examination and X-ray on arrival confirm the plan; if it shows something we could not see from a distance, we re-issue the plan and the price before any treatment begins.
How long will it actually take?
Every treatment on this page carries its chair time, its number of visits and — the one that decides a trip — the elapsed time from start to finish. Whitening, cleaning, fillings and most extractions are a single visit. A CAD/CAM crown is milled in the clinic and fitted the same day, while a laboratory crown needs two visits about a week apart. Implants are two trips three to six months apart, because the implant has to integrate with bone before the crown goes on.
Is the checkup price all-in?
The package price covers every test listed for that package, arranged and booked for you, with your report translated into English. Gastroscopy, colonoscopy and anything added after your consultation are quoted separately.
Do you provide the treatment?
No. China Medical Journey arranges and coordinates. Diagnosis, testing and treatment come from the licensed clinics and clinicians treating you, and nothing on this site is medical advice.
Ready, or still deciding?
Tell us the package or treatment and roughly when. We come back within 48 hours — free, no obligation.
